Rest in Peace Roy Halladay

This news really hit me hard when I saw it. I got text messages from three separate friends within five minutes telling me that Roy Halladay, one of the best pitchers of our generation, had passed away in a plane crash at the age of 40.

I was no stranger to watching Halladay pitch, as he played for the Yankees’ AL East rival Blue Jays for 12 seasons before finishing his career in Philadelphia with the Phillies. He absolutely DOMINATED the Yanks, going 18-7 with a 2.98 ERA and 7 complete games.

When you talk about the best pitchers of our generation growing up, you’d be remiss not to mention Roy Halladay. A 203-105 record with a 3.38 ERA makes him a Hall-of-Famer in my mind. It’s devastating he had to go out like this, and everyone here at BTB Sports’ thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.

A sad day in the baseball world. RIP Roy Halladay, one of the best to ever do it, gone too soon.
